ENCOUNTER GOD, GROW IN TRUTH, AND

SERVE PEOPLE THROUGH PURPOSE

ABOUT US

ABOUT US

As the Liberty family, we are “One Church, All People” who seek to “be” the church God has called and gifted us to be. We are a body that strives to be a church that embodies Acts 2:42-47. We desire to honor our God by being faithful to His Word in every area of ministry God has entrusted to us.

Here at Liberty, you can expect to meet new friends and develop lasting relationships. Also, you will experience fun, meaningful, and safe adventures for your children and discover ways to make your life count.

WHO WE ARE

Our mission is to position people to Encounter GodGrow in Truth, and Serve People Through Purpose so that they can make a godly impact in our community and beyond.

ENCOUNTER GOD

We believe we are not only to encounter our God through worship, we are also to invite those who have not yet trusted Christ as their Savior to encounter God as well.

GROW IN TRUTH

We believe growth is essential for every Believer. Anyone committing their life to follow Jesus should also commit themselves to a small group Bible study designed to help them grow in their faith. Most of our small group Bible study classes meet at 9:30 am on Sunday mornings.

SERVE PEOPLE

We believe that once Believers encounter God and grow in truth, they are to connect people to God's mission and purpose by serving people on purpose. God created you with a spiritual purpose, and Liberty will help you fulfill that personal and corporate mission.

KINGDOM MISSION: OUR FIVE YEAR VISION

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

The Liberty Center

The Liberty Center will be one portion of our Kingdom Mission to put people in a position to experience the freedom, beauty, and redemptive work of God. It will be community center for all the communities surrounding our Liberty campus.

Community Activities

As part of our Kingdom Mission, we are planning to expand our Bread of Life Ministry by making some updates to our current facility. Our Bread of Life Ministry provides food to those who are food insecure and in need of healthy, nutritious meals. We plan to develop Lake Liberty Park behind our building and foster recreational activities such as sports, training, and mentorship programs.

Additionally, we plan to expand other major Liberty community engagement ministries such as our Grief Share ministry and Celebrate Recovery.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

The Baptist Faith and Message summarizes our major Bible beliefs as a church. The topics here provide only a partial summary.

THE SCRIPTURES

The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God's revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy.

GOD

There is one and only one living and true God. The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.

THE FATHER

God as Father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures, and the flow of the stream of human history according to the purposes of His grace. God is Father in truth to those who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ.

THE SON

Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ, He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He honored the divine law by His personal obedience, and in His substitutionary death on the cross, He made provision for the redemption of men from sin.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, fully divine. He exalts Christ. He convicts men of sin, of righteousness and of judgment. He enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service.

MAN

Man is the special creation of God, in His own image. He created them male and female as the crowning work of His creation. By his free choice man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race. God created man in His own image, and in that Christ died for man; therefore every person of every race possesses dignity and is worthy of respect and Christian love.

SALVATION

Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification.

GOD'S PURPOSE OF GRACE

Election is the gracious purpose of God, according to which He regenerates, justifies, sanctifies, and glorifies sinners. All true believers endure to the end. Those whom God has accepted in Christ, and sanctified by His Spirit will never fall away from the state of grace, but shall persevere to the end.

THE CHURCH

A New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ is an autonomous local congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel. Liberty operates under the Lordship of Christ through democratic processes. Each member is responsible and accountable to Christ as Lord. Its scriptural officers are pastors and deacons. While both men and women are gifted for service in the church, the office of pastor is limited to men as qualified by Scripture.

OUR PASTOR

Pastor James Oney

Pastor James is a Panama City, Fl. native who has developed a heart for discipleship and connecting the community to the local church. James is married to his gorgeous wife, Chantel. Together, they are stewarding four sons: Caleb, Israel, Joel, and Timothy. In recognizing God’s sovereign will, they also have one child, Jamie, who is in the presence of the risen King.
